TDG Sports Marketing brings you WNBA All Star Game News. Napheesa Collier was named The WNBA 2025 All Star Game MVP when she led her team, Team Collier to a 151 to 131 victory of Team Clark on July 19, 2025. Collier also led the game with 36 points which sets a new WNBA All Star Game Record.
Seattle Storm Point Guard Skyler Diggins makes WNBA History by recording the First Triple Double with 11 Points, 11 Rebounds and 15 Assist. TDG Sports Marketing also congratulates Skyler Diggins for being one of the top Point Guards in the WNBA.
Hello WNBA fans. The All Star Game and weekend is over and we are about to begin the second half of the WNBA season. Teams will begin to get even more serious preparing for the playoff stretch. So, let's get into the WNBA schedule for this week, July 28th- August 3rd, 2025:
Monday, July 28, 2025:
Seattle Storm defeats the Connecticut Sun- 101-85.
Nneka Ogwumike took it to the Sun with 26 points in only 19 minutes. Gabby Williams added 16 points and super point guard Skyler Diggins performed with a triple double, 12 rebounds, 11 assist and 11 points. It rather amazing how many rebounds she is able to rake in at only 5'7" tall. She becomes the leading rebounder quite often. I keep saying Skyler is top 3 tier in the league as best point guard.
Guard Bria Hartley led the way for the Sun with 17 points, followed by Tina Charles and Jacey Sheldon who added 11 points each. Tina Charles has been around in the WNBA for sometime now, and still able to hang and perform at an All Star Level. Go ahead Miss Tina. Keep doing your thing as long as you feel it's right.
Dallas Wings surprise the New York Liberty with a defeat, 92-82.
Arike Ogunbowale and Paige Bueckers each went for a 20 piece to lead all scorers for the Wings. Arike also chipped in a whopping 14 assist. Glad to see her back from injury.
Jonquel Jones hit for 18 points and snatched 7 rebounds to lead the way for New York. The very stylish Sabrina Ionescu shot for 17 points in the Liberty's effort. But this just goes to show you fans, you can't judge a team by it's record. All these women are professionals, so any team can be beaten on any given night.
Tuesday, July 28, 2025:
The Valkyries defeated the Dream, 77-75. The game went down to the wire and took a positive turn for the Valkyries in the final seconds of the game. But it was no surprise, not taking anything away from the Dream, who has a good team and winning record. The Valkyries continue to play at an high level defeating elite teams. This Cinderella team continues to shine and surprise teams in the W for their first year. It's gotten to the point that whomever they defeat, it's no surprise.
Jordin Canada headed up the Dream Team with 21 points and 8 assist and Naz Hillmon set a little fire with 14 points and 8 rebounds. I will say this, Jordin Canada is playing her best ball so far this season and who could blame her. With sharpshooter Te-Hina Paopao waiting in the wings as her backup, I would keep my foot on the gas also. And I am not throwing any shade on Jordin. She is a great talent, and so is Paopao!
The Washington Mystics defeated the Chicago Sky, 103-86. The Mystics Combo of Citron, Iriafen and Sykes hit for a total of 68 of their 103 points, Citron-28, Iriafen-22 and Sykes -18. The Big 3 just keeps on keeping on with their winning ways as the youngest team in the WNBA, supposedly in a building stage. They are doing a great job with their talent, especially with the Rookies. I can't wait to see what it will be like when Georgia Amoore returns from her season ending injury.
Now for the Sky. Even though the Sky is on a bit of a down slide so far, in my opinion, Kamilla Cardoso always seem to shine light over the team. She is such an incredible talent, especially for a BIG. Watch how she glides up and down the court like a Gazelle. She has probably the best foot work of any Big, 6'5" and up in the league. She is a defensive demon that never stops playing her role as a rim protector. She has natural, sheer talent. And the really good thing about Kamilla Cardoso, she does her thing quietly, with grace and style, never boisterous, or arrogant. She let's her game speak for her. This is why I call her,
"The Gentle Giant". And by the way, she shined tonight with a double double, 21 points and 11 rebounds. I keep saying, if the Sky utilizes Cardoso's talent properly, she can average 20 and 15, with no sweat! And I forgot, Kamilla does have a sweet little jump shot from the corners, which she should take more often!
And the final game of the day goes to, the Aces and Sparks, which was won by the Aces, 89-74. It was Cameron Brinks debut in 2025 coming back from her rookie season injury. Cameron contributed 5 points and 3 rebounds in 14 minutes. Kelsey Plum led all scorers on the team with 22. Rae Burrell had 17 points and 6 rebounds, along with Dearica Hamby's 15 points and 6 rebounds. Welcome back Cameron. Good luck the remainder of the season.
And as usual, the Big A, as I call her, Aja Wilson did her usual thing with a double double, 34 points and 10 rebounds. Keep it up Aja. It appears you are headed for another MVP. Jackie Young put on her jets and created a triple double, 18 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. I noticed Kierstan Bell clocked 21 minutes of playing time tonight. Since Bell had a reputation of being a shooter, I think maybe Becky is trying to find that 3rd consistent scoring threat the Aces so desperately need. Let's see what happens. But as I stated previously, go give it the old college try to get Te-Hina Paopao. That would solve your problem Aces. It would be a long shot, but it's worth the try.
Wednesday, July 30, 2025:
Mercury- 101 vs Fever- 107 - final score- Alyssa Thomas hit 32 points and snatched 15 rebounds. Kahlea Copper dropped 22 points for a losing cause. And Sami Whitcomb added 18 points.
The Fever's Aari McDonald led the way scoring 27 points. And Fever's Aliyah Boston banked 22 points and 12 rebounds for a another double double to help the Fever's victory.
Liberty- 93 vs Lynx- 100 - final score. The Liberty's smooth operator Sabrina Ionescu dropped bombs all night long that added up to 31 points. Too bad it was for a losing cause! Isabella Harrison chipped in 15 points. Maybe it was a good move from Chicago to New York for Harrison. She seems to be doing much better in getting deserving minutes in New York. Oh well, Chicago's loss, New York's gain.
The Lynx superstar and MVP candidate Napheesa Collier launched 30 points and had 9 rebounds. Her side kicks Kayla McBride scored 24 points and Courtney Williams snatched 9 rebounds and dished 13 assist to join the party and help keep the Lynx on top.
Dream-88 vs Wings- 85- final score. Te-Hina Paopao started at point guard in place of injured Jordin Canada for the Dream Team tonight. This is the first time Te-Hina
has started since preseason. The rookie sharpshooter had a solid night scoring 11 points, grabbing 8 rebounds to lead all rebounders in the game at 5'9" including her teammate 6'9" Brittney Griner and 6'6" Li Yueru of the Wings and she dished out 6 assist. Paopao is a legitimate scorer and efficient point guard. She would be a permanent starter on any other team. But the Dream is stacked with talent and Jordin Canada is the teams starting veteran who is very talented. So do not judge Paopao's talent based on her minutes. Paopao truly is one of the top 5 rookies in the W as well as one of the top shooters and 3 point specialist. Her field goal percentage proves it being 3rd in the league. Naz Hillmon led the way scoring 21 points and in my opinion if she keeps it up she could be in the running for 6 woman of the year. Te-Hina Paopao should be in the running for the All Rookie Team this season if she keeps up her great playing.
Thursday, July 31, 2025 WNBA Games on tap:
Golden State Valkyries- 68 vs Washington Mystics-67-final score.
I call this game, battle of the WNBA Cinderella Teams. My reason for this phrase is because no one really expected either team to do what they have done this season so far. The Mystics are the youngest team in the league that is suppose to be in their rebuilding year, with 3 rookies in which one of them is out for the season with an injury. The Valkyries are a new franchise with actually No Stars attached!
If this is not a Hollywood movie I don't know what it is, lol.
Both teams played to the buzzer last night and it was a close and good game all the way. Both teams always put up a good fight. With the Mystics it is always the 2 rookies plus 1, (Brittney Sykes) along with Shakira Austin, which I call Mystics Big 4.
The Valkyries, what can you say? They are doing an incredible job with the talent they possess. They have no High Profile Stars, yet they get the job done with players like; Kate Martin, traded from the Las Vegas Aces, Tiffany Hayes, traded from the Las Vegas Aces, Laeticia Amihere, a Dawn Staley Prodigy who I call,
"The Quiet Storm", because she does damage on the court to other teams, quietly!
And then there is Veronica Burton who always seem to make noise, in a positive way to help the team in their winning ways. The Valkyries are probably one of the only teams in which all their home games have been Sell Outs. That is very unusual for a new franchise.
In conclusion, I think both of these teams will squeeze into the playoffs and create real havoc. Being very honest, I would not be surprised if either one of these teams become, "the last team standing". I know talent, tenacity and good work ethic when I see it, and both of these teams possess the qualities. So Liberty, Lynx, Dream, Storm and Mercury, you have been warned! The Valkyries and Mystics are cocked and loaded and they are coming for your Badge!
Todays WNBA games on Friday, August 1, 2025:
Fever- 88 vs Wings- 78- final score- Hurry back Caitlin, the fans miss you, but when you come back we want you ready all the way. Good Luck!
Liberty- 62 vs Sun - 78- final score- Ain't that a kick in the groin? It goes to show any professional team can beat the other on any given night, no matter the ranking.
Mercury-72 vs Dream- 96- final score- That did not come as any surprise. The Dream Team, as I call the Atlanta Dream, is stacked with talent. Sometimes the Dream play even better without Brittney. Not a shot a you Brittney. You have been one of the best every since you came into the league and still are. I'm only pointing out how good the Dream really are. You have players like Naz Hillmon, Rookie-Te-Hina Paopao and Maya Caldwell which are the first coming off the bench and contributing. These players also have starting ability as they have in place of injuries lately. I still say the Dream can win it all. But I will also say, they cannot take the Mystics and Valkyries lightly, or they will be going fishing due to an early exit. Every top team in the WNBA should and better have Mad Respect for the Mystics and Valkyries!
Sky- 66 vs Valkyries- 73- final score- Speaking of the Valkyries, they downed the Sky tonight. Now you can't put the Sky down. They played well, but came up short against the W's Cinderella Team, but so have some of the Top Tier Teams also. One of my favorite talents played well tonight and came up with another double double, none other than "The Gentle Giant", Kamilla Cardoso, 14 and 11. I keep telling fans and the W that if Kamilla Cardoso is utilized properly, she is a huge asset to the Sky and can average 20 & 15. I predict she will be close to these numbers by the end of the season. She is one of the top 4 true Bigs in the W for 6'5" and up. My choices are Britney Griner, Aliyah Boston, Kamilla Cardoso and Jonquel Jones, but not necessarily in that order. You have to give Brittney respect first. She was the first original "Bad Girl Big" in the WNBA fresh out of Baylor dominating straight into the WNBA.
Sparks- 108 vs Storm- 106- final score- The Sparks squeezed out a win over the Storm last night. I think since the Sparks have their final roster with the return of Cameron Brink they are trying to make a run. Their record is 12 and 15, so it's not too bad. If they can find a way to rack up some wins in a row, they might have a chance, slim, but it's still a chance. I see several problems. One, they are going to have to find a way to surpass the Mystics and Valkyries and that will not be an easy task. It's like trying to escape a lion's den, it's possible, but not likely. Number two, the Sparks have a point guard problem, at least a true point guard . Yes Kelsey Plum can handle the ball, but she is a shooter and they need that from her. She is not an orchestrator with great court vision like Chelsea Gray, Skyler Diggins, Caitlin Clark, or rookie Te-Hina Paopao. Third, the development coach has to work with Cameron Brink on her foul situation. She committed 5 last night against the storm. She has always had that problem, even in college. How are you going to count on her if she can't stay out of foul trouble? Brink was drafted number 2 overall in last years draft, so you know they are counting on her to help win a Championship. As I said, a chance is there, just not a good one. Draft or trade for a great point guard and come back next season.
The Storm put up a good fight, it just wasn't enough. The usual suspects showed up for Seattle. Nneka Ogwumike had a double double- 37 points and 12 rebounds and Skyler Diggins rifled in 18 points and dropped 6 dimes to lead the Storm. I know the storm is one of the top teams, but I don't see them going past the first round. Outside of Nneka and Skyler, I don't see enough consistent offense, especially from outside. The Storm and their coach Noelle Quinn are going to have to figure this one out and quickly. Storm need consistent offense from some of the other players and stop running out of gas in the second half. Maybe they need to do some extra conditioning or something. They can't win running out of gas in the second half.
WNBA Games today, August 2, 2025:
Minnesota Lynx- 111 vs Las Vegas Aces- 58- final score-WOW. The game yesterday was an absolute atrocity for the Aces. I was appaled at what I saw. That was probably the worst beaten of any team in WNBA history, if not, it has to be close to it. Kayla McBride and Napheesa Collier were dropping 3s from downtown and the Aces were flying all over the place like they were taking flying lessons. For a team that has won back to back Championships it did not look like it last night. Aces, you have a serious problem. I can tell you straight up, the trades you made are just not working out, at all. Becky, you have to go back to the drawing board and work something out! You need front and back court help, ASAP!
WNBA Games Today, Sunday August 3, 2025:
Liberty-87 vs Sun- 78-final score- Tina Charles and rookie Aneesah Morrow stood out for the Sun with 17 and 16 points respectively only to fall short of a win. For the winning team, New York Liberty it was non other than Ms. Smooth operator Sabrina Ionescu with 36 points and 11 rebounds and Jonquel Jones packed in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Brianna Stewart is out with a right knee injury and there is no time table for her return. Let her rest up for the playoffs!
Mystics-83 vs Dream-78-final score- The Dream continue to roll right along with their winning ways without two of their starters, Brittney Griner and Rhyne Howard out with injuries. Naz Hillmon and rookie Te-Hina Paopao have stepped in and fill the gaps nicely for the last couple of games to help secure wins for the Dream Team to continue to try and secure home court advantage for the playoffs.
Te-Hina Paopao has stepped up in a big way showing that she can do more than just shoot the ball by rebounding, playing defense and assisting with points. In my opinion the Dream are very fortunate to have the rookie. I'm sure there are other teams that would love to acquire her services in a starting position permanently.
Fever-78 vs Storm-74- final score- Storm's charge was led by Nneka Ogwumike-14 points , followed by Skyler Diggins with 13 points and 6 assist. The Fever was led by Natasha Howard who had 21 points and 5 rebounds for the win. Aliyah Boston had a double double, 16 points and 12 rebounds to help steer the win.
Mercury-83 vs Sky-67 -final score- Chicago Sky fall to the Phoenix Mercury. Kamilla Cardoso had a solid game with another double double, 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks for the Sky, along with Elizabeth Williams double double of 15 points and 15 rebounds. The Sky is still in need of a strong point guard to lead the team and orchestrate. I don't know what the problem is with Moriah Jefferson. From what I saw the few games she has played this season due to injuries, she still has gas in the tank and leadership abilities. Now, whether the team respects her leadership is something different. And if that is a factor, the head coach needs to address it immediately. Rachel Banham is a scorer, not a point guard with leadership and orchestrator capabilities, and neither does Haley Van Lith. She is a shooter that can create a shot off the dribble.
Kahleah Cooper was Top Dawg for the Mercury dropping 25 big ones to lead the team in scoring last night. Alyssa Thomas hxad a triple double, 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assist to stay consistent for the Mercury and secure the victory.
Valkyries-77 vs Aces - 101- final score- The Valkyries had an off night for a change. The Aces took advantage of it and showcased their frustrations from the beating given by the Lynx previously. Jackie Young shot for 20 points and dished 8 assist, while Aja Wilson created her usual double double, 14 points and 14 rebounds. Jewel Lloyd must have gotten the memo because she came up with a good shooting night, 27 points. Jewel, you have to stay consistent, the team needs your contribution every night.
For the Valkyries 4 players contributed pretty evenly; lliana Rupert scored 17 points and gathered 8 rebounds, Carla Leite added 14 , Kaila Charles dropped 13 and Lateticia Amihere shot for 14 points and snatched 9 boards. This is what I like about the Valkyries. Everyone plays together, hard and to win. No egos, loud mouths, no bragging, no stat padding, just good hard play with mostly winning results. This is what makes the Valkyries so dangerous. They let their play speak for itself.
Have a pleasant day Sports Fans and enjoy the games!

At TDG Sports Marketing, we are predicting the strongest teams in the WNBA this season. Seemingly, the EAST is the BEAST this season. The Dream, no one can stop Britney Griner 1 on 1. They have a great back court duo in Britney Griner and Brionna Jones, both talented, experienced and strong. Hard to stop. Then they have probably the best shooters in the front court in Rhyan Howard, Allisha Gray and Te-Hina Paopao. They also have depth off the bench. This team will be very hard to defeat in a seven-game series, which is the format this season. They are capable of winning it all.
Of course, the New York Liberty are the defending Champs. So, you have to give them their respect. And until they are dethroned, they are still the Champs. But I think the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream have something to say about this. The New York Liberty has a great Big 3 in Brianna Stewart an MVP, Sharpshooter Sabrina Ionescu and MVP Jonquel Jones. I do think they will have their hands full with the Dream and Fever this year.
Now, there is the Minnesota Lynx. They have what it takes to win a Championship, good defense, a big 3 for scoring and the team is well disciplined. Their leader is Napheesa Collier, who will probably be this years MVP. But, in my opinion, I still think they need a dominate Big, which they don't have. This is the problem they had last year against New York. Find a Big Minnesota.
WNBA NEW YORK LIBERTY are the new CHAMPIONS OF 2024. The Liberty dethroned the back to back champs Las Vegas Aces to become the new owner of the throne.
