Medina Okot, South Carolina 6' 6" Center will be replacing injured Chloe Kitts in the starting lineup for the Lady Gamecocks. And boy did the Lady Gamecocks hit the lottery with this Talent. South Carolina's new "Sky Scraper".

Joyce Edwards, Gamecocks 2024 freshman sensation front court threat. Joyce is expected to take up where she left off in 2024. I have one word for Joyce, "Sensational".

9. Duke
10. Maryland

North Central State- 42 vs UNC- 90- Final Score- North Carolina Tar Heels steamed rolled NCS - for the first win, first game of the season. UNC had 5 players hitting for double figures; Nyla Brooks-15 points, Ciera Toomey- 13 points and 11 rebounds, Nyla Harris-12 points and 10 rebounds, Elina Aarnisalo-13 points and Indya Nivar - 13 points.
Baylor - 58 vs Duke- 52- Final Score- Now this was a good game between two ranked possible contenders. Taliah Scott poured in 24 points for Baylor and Toby Fournier had 16 points and 10 boards for Duke. Look for good things from both clubs this season.
Iowa State- 85 vs St Thomas NB- 36- Final Score- Iowa State rolled over St. Thomas by 49 for the season opening win. Audi Crooks led Iowa State with 20 points, while Alyssa Sand led the way with 17 points at St Thomas for the loss.
Ole Miss- 87 vs Norfork State- 46- Final Score- Ole Miss came up big with a 41 point victory over Norfork State. Christeen Iwuala led the way with 15 points along side Latasha Lattimore- 12 points and Cotie McMahon added 13.
Vanderbilt- 74 vs California- 65- Final Score- California had 4 players in double figures for the loss and that is so unfortunate because they have a very decent team. Vanderbilt's top gun Mikayla Blakes came up big with 27 points to lead the way for Vanderbilt's season opener win.
Oklahoma- 84 vs Belmont- 67- Final Score- Oklahoma topped Belmont in their season opener by 17 for the W. Looks like Reagan Beers takes up where she left off last year scoring 29 points and snatching 10 boards. I'm sure she will rank high in the 2026 WNBA Draft Selection. I hope the Lynx, Mercury and Valkyries are paying attention.
Kentucky- 75 vs Morehead- 59- Final Score- Kentucky takes out Morehead with a comfortable 16 point victory to begin their season on a positive note. Marie Sepp led the way for Morehead with 21 points and 8 rebounds, while Toni Morgan pasted 16 points with Kentucky. Clara Strack and Jordan Obi each had 15 rebounds and 15 points to be respectable in the win for Kentucky.
Maryland- 80 vs Loyola MD- 26- Final Score. Maryland gets the 56 point blowout over Loyola as The Terrapins roll easily to the win of their opener. Maryland was led by Oluchi Okanawa with 18 points.
South Carolina- 94 vs Grand Canyon- 54- final Score - South Carolina begins the regular season with domination over Grand Canyon with a 40 point blowout. The Lady Gamecocks starting five hit for double figures in game one.
The charge was led by newcomer Ta' Niya Latson-20, Tessa Johnson-19, Joyce Edwards-13, Madina Okot-12 and Raven Johnson-11.
Iowa- 86 vs Southern U- 51- Final Score- The Iowa Hawkeyes defeat Southern Jaguars by 35 to roll on to a massive victory in their season opener. Iowa was led by Ava Heiden- 20 points and 14 rebounds along with her sidekick Hannah Stuelke who added 20 points and 9 rebounds.
Oklahoma State- 109 vs New Orleans- 48- Final Score- Oklahoma buried New Orleans in their opener by 60 points. No disrespect intended, but someone needs to go back to the drawing board and start over from scratch. Oklahoma was led by Micah Gray who had 21 points. Her teammate Praise Egharevba added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Once again, no disrespect intended. But how do you intend to win with 2 rebounds and 11 points for the best performer and the next closes had 2 rebounds and 8 points.
Texas- 123 vs Incarnate - 51- Final Score - Texas gave Incarnats a good shellacking. The Lady Longhorns had 6 players in double figures; Madison Booker- 18, Jordan Lee- 21, Kyla Oldacre-17, Aaliyah Crump-16, Breya Cunningham- 16, Bryanna Preston-16. Looks like the lady longhorns loaded up for the Lady Gamecocks. Texas needed additional firepower to complement Madison Booker so it seems they did just that, but so did South Carolina and SC added legitimate Bigs in the middle, 6' 6" . This should be interesting!
UCLA- 77 vs San Diego State-53- Final Score- UCLA Leads at halftime- 37-22. Lauren Betts leads the way with 21 points and teammate Gabriela Jaquez hit 15 points and snagged 11 rebounds to lead UCLA to their season opener blowout. Superstar Lauren Betts brings her sister to the Bruins roster this season, freshman Sienna Betts, which means she probably will stay another season with the Bruins, which means no WNBA team will grace her presence in the 2026 draft.
