Hello Sports fans. Today is Sunday, March 1, 2026, the end of the Women's College Basketball Season and beginning of March Madness!
UConn will end the season UNDEFEATED! South Carolina will end their season, SEC Champions, Again!
The SEC Tournament will begin March 4, 2026 in Greensville South Carolina. I predict South Carolina will win the SEC Tournament and will also be one of the final two teams standing for the Championship.
Now, the next final team standing alongside South Carolina for the Championship will be either UConn or UCLA, in my opinion. But I don't rule out Vanderbilt. I am not making UConn a slam dunk for the final spot simply because in my opinion, UConn's only real challenge this season was Michigan and Michigan almost beat UConn. UConn escaped by a bucket, a basket, 2 points. That is a hard pill for me to swallow for an undefeated team! I think the better matchup and game would be, South Carolina vs UCLA. It would be a battle against the TWO BEST BIGS in Women's College Basketball,
Lauren Betts vs Medina Okot! This would be a very good matchup. Don't get me wrong, I love Betts, but I think Okot is the best ALL AROUND CENTER in Women's College Basketball. She can rebound, a great rim and paint protector, scores over 60%, great rebounder and can shoot the 3 point shot, efficiently. I love Medina's game all the way. If Medina goes to the WNBA this season, I could see her going to the Atlanta Dream or Minnesota Links. Both of these teams are a BIG away from a Championship.
I will be back with more commentary on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Meantime, enjoy the games TODAY!
