A Salute to Raven Johnson from Super Star at South Carolina to the WNBA making a difference.

Hello Sports Fans. I am doing a special weekly commentary and it is about Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. And this is my opinion as an ex ball player, ex coach and a present sports consultant. This whole thing started after the Fever drafted Raven Johnson of South Carolina. Caitlin Clark is a great talent and so is Raven Johnson. They both play the same position. Caitlin is the center point of the Fever. Raven has come to the team and become a big hit as a rookie. And because of Caitlin being the center point of the team, there may be a problem with Caitlin having to share the spotlight with Raven due to the fact that they are both VERY TALENTED. This is normal of a superstar, I get it. I think the head coach, the GM and Caitlin should probably sit down, have a meeting and try to work this out. The fact remains, the Fever have a good chance of making the playoffs again and going for the title. The adversity going on is a huge distraction, a distraction that needs to be put to rest. Raven Johnson is being put in the middle of this mess and it is totally unfair to her. Raven is an incredible talent with a very pleasant attitude. I think she has one of the best attitudes I have ever witnessed for an athlete, on any level. I want to also point out something about Caitlin Clark. Without a doubt she is the MAIN reason athletes in the WNBA are benefiting like they have never before. Attendance, revenue and awareness has sky rocketed because of Caitlin and so has the sponsorship. If you have ever paid attention to Caitlin off the court, in interviews, etc. I think she handles things in a very professional manner. She always seem to say the right things. You never hear her bragging or being arrogant like some Superstars I have witnessed. The Fever have a problem that can be worked out internally. I think it can be handled in a sophisticated way, inhouse. I think the two stars can play together, Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson and make a run for the CROWN. All I ask of people is to halt the negative press toward these two Stars. Let these two talented young ladies do their thing on and off the court in peace. Thank you.

1. Kelsey Plum- Sparks-26.8
2. Aja Wilson- Aces-24.8
3. Kelsey Mitchell- Fever- 20.6
4. Allisha Gray-Dream- 20.4
5. Caitlin Clark-Fever-20.1

The Atlanta Dream will be one of the power houses in the Eastern Conference for the 2026 WNBA season. I think Atlanta has a good mixture of sharp shooters in Gray, Howard and Paopao and a strong inside threat from Jones, Hillmon and the addition of South Carolina's Star, Medina Okot. GO DREAM TEAM !

In the beginning, I really had high hopes for the Fever after their two rookie picks in the draft, Raven Johnson and Justine Pissott. Adding these two college superstars to the roster I felt was amazing and this would take them over the top. But now I feel totally different. From what I have seen so far, in my opinion, there is too much nonsense going on with this team. I will address things in detail in my next commentary. So stay tuned!

I also think the Washington Mystics will be a surprise power house in the East. With the addition of UCLA'S Star Center, All American and Player of The Year, Lauren Betts and the return of Georgia Amoore from injury, the Mystics will make a lot of noise. With the Firm of Citron, Iriafen, Amoore and Betts, this will be one of the best tea

With the Firm of Citron, Iriafen, Amoore and Betts, this will be one of the best teams in the East. Look out Dream and Fever. Keep your guards up. Don't let the Mystics catch you slipping! And I almost forgot about Texas point guard Rori Harmon. Look for good things from her as well!

It is not a lot to say about the Las Vegas Aces. Their record speaks for itself, 3 time Champions and Aja Wilson. You have to knock the Champ out to take the belt. Who will be good enough to take on that task? Once again, if there is no distraction, the Aces will stay focused.

The Lynx are always the team to watch due to their past. Natasha Howard is back with the Lynx. Howard, McBride, Williams and newly drafted TCU Star Point Guard, Olivia Miles will have to hold down the fort until Napheesa Collier returns from injury. I think the Lynx will make a good showing once again, although I keep saying, they won't

Howard, McBride, Williams and newly drafted TCU Star Point Guard, Olivia Miles will have to hold down the fort until Napheesa Collier returns from injury. I think the Lynx will make a good showing once again, although I keep saying, they won't win a title without a true BIG. I don't know why they did not take Lauren Betts. A good point guard is important. And they drafted one of the best in Olivia Miles. Olivia and Raven Johnson were the best in the College Ranks. I hope the Lynx prove me to be wrong this year about the Big!

The Valkyries, I said from the very beginning of the season last year, "don't count the Valkyries out" and look what they did? They became the Cinderella team. I look for them to do nothing less this season. I also said if the Valkyries secured a Big, they could go all the way. They went and acquired the services of Las Vegas Aces Kia Sto
The Valkyries, I said from the very beginning of the season last year, "don't count the Valkyries out" and look what they did? They became the Cinderella team. I look for them to do nothing less this season. I also said if the Valkyries secured a Big, they could go all the way. They went and acquired the services of Las Vegas Aces Kia Stokes. Even though technically Kia is only 6'4", she plays like a 6'6" or 6'7" Big. Kia still has gas left in her tank. She is a great rim protector and rebounder. And she can get you buckets when needed. Lookout Aces and Lynx, the Valkyries are coming once again!
Hello Sports Fans, the Chicago Sky started off 3-0 and lately they have gone into a bit of a slump. In my opinion it's because of injuries, new recruits and chemistry. I still think the Sky can be a contender once everyone is healthy and they play a little more together to get the chemistry going. I'm not making excuses for the team just an assessment. The coach will eventually assert the right group together to make a run and I feel they will. The talent is there.

The newest member of the WNBA, The Golden State Valkyries have arrived in a big way and making an impact, immediately.
